Elk Island National Park
For those times that we need to escape the every day and reconnect with nature, Bruderheim residents have the pleasure of taking a short ten minute drive to Elk Island National Park, a local environmental gem.
Often called "Canada's Serengeti", the park boasts the highest density of ungulates (hooved animals such as bison and elk) in Canada, and is second in density only to the Serengeti Plains of Africa.
The park offers many opportunities for wildlife watching, and is renowned for its conservation efforts with bison, trumpeter swan and beaver populations. Relax at Sandy Beach, play a round of golf, or take a hike on one of the many trails.
