January 1, 2025 - Nominations Open

September 22, 2025 - Nominations Close at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

September 23, 2025 - Deadline to withdraw nominations at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

September 24, 2025 - Candidates Forum

October 20, 2025 -Municipal Election Day

 October 29 - 30, 2025 - MANDATORY Council Orientation Education

November 26, 2025 - MANDATORY Local Authority Elected Official (LAEO) course.  Fundamentals of Emergency Management

Notice of intent to run process s. 147.22 LAEA is New for the 2025 election.
Prospective candidates are required to file a notice of intent to run with the Election Office.
The Notice must be filed before accepting campaign contributions or incurring campaign expenses.
 
 

Elections Alberta- Register to Vote

Alberta municipalities are responsible for creating a Permanent Elector Register and receive the Register of Electors from Elections Alberta for this purpose. Municipalities are responsible for creating a List of Electors to be used in municipal elections.

Ensuring your voter registration information is up-to-date and accurate for provincial election events will also ensure accurate information is provided to municipalities to use when creating their Permanent Elector Registers.
