Combined assessment and tax notices were mailed to all property owners May 22, 2020.

The Town of Bruderheim encourages payment of property taxes by June 30th, 2020, to effectively support the continued delivery of municipal programs and services.

A tax penalty deferral and reduced tax penalties have been put in place to support taxpayers who need to delay all, or a portion of their 2020 property tax payment.

2020 property taxes that remain unpaid after September 30th, 2020 – the end of the three-month penalty deferral period – are subject to the following penalty:

October 1: 18% on unpaid current tax levy.

Property owners in the Town of Bruderheim receive a property tax notice each year in May. The assessment indicates the owner's share of municipal taxes and the payment due date.

The value shown on your assessment notice is based on the estimated value of your property. Assessment (market value) of your home determines taxes payable, dependent on how your home compares to the 'average' home in Bruderheim. If your house value is higher than the average, you pay more tax. If the value is less than the average, you
pay less tax. The 'comparison to average' calculation method ensures that taxes stay consistent and reasonable each year and maintains fairness among taxpayers!

If you have any questions about your tax notice, please call the Director of Corporate Services at 780-796-3731.
